About the temple of Lord Shiva:

Kedarnath temple is one of the Hindu temples of Char Dham Yatra (Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, Badrinath). This temple is located at an altitude of 3548 meters above sea level. The deity of this temple is LORD-SIVA. This temple is located Garhwal Himalayan range near the Mandakini River in the state of Uttarakhand. Due to severe winter, this temple is open for the 8th month from April ( Akshay Tritiya) to November (Kartik Purnima). The deity ( Lord Shiva) of this temple carries down to Ukhimath for worshipping for the next six months because of the extreme winter.

What is the best way to reach Kedarnath?  

Reaching Kedarnath temple is not a difficult task. There are many paths to go to Kedarnath. At first, you have to reach Haridwar station by train. Next morning go to the Haridwar bus stand as early as possible, Take the bus to Sonproyag. total distance is 230 km according to Google Maps. This is the last stop for private vehicles. From Sonprayag take sharing taxi to Gourikund. It is for 50 rupees. Gourikund is the last vehicular road and the trek is starting from this place. The way of trekking is around 22 km. Piithu, Doli, and Mule riding are also available. If you are an adventure lover then this is very enjoyable for you. 

If you prefer a flight, then Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun is the nearest airport. Which is around 239 km. From there you can hire taxi or bus to go to Gourikund. 

Kedarnath Yatra 2024 by helicopter:

Helicopter service is available from Gupta Kasi, Fata, and Sersi and it takes around 10 to 15 minutes only and the cost is 6000 INR to 1000 INR. you may carry luggage up to 15 kg per person.  The distance is 700 meters from Kedarnath helipad to Kedarnath temple. You should book a ticket from the official website IRCTC.

Stay of Kedarnath Yatra 2024:

If you will start your journey early in the morning from Haridwar, then you will reach Gourikund in the evening, depending on traffic conditions. There are many hotels, dormitory, and clock rooms. Next morning start your journey as soon as possible. The trekking is for 22 km, it may take 9 to 10 hours.  If you can’t trek there are other options also, like pittu,  Mule riding, Doli etc. And around mid of the day, you will reach Kedarnath. Enjoy the panoramic view and visit lord siva and worship, There is governor property GMVN, and many other private properties also. You can stay there for one or two days and the cost is 1000 INR to 10000 INR depending on the place and room condition.

There are 2 ways to Registration Online and Offline. Online is the best option for Registration for Kedarnath Yatra 2024. Offline is difficult to get empty slots, you can register from Haridwar,  But it will be very crowded. 

    What things to carry in a Kedarnath trip?

      A small bag.

      Raincoat. 

      Polythene.

      2 to 3 sets of socks

      Extra trekking shoes

      Dry foods, fruits, Dark chocolate

      Water bottle

      One set cloths 

      Extra jacket 

      Mobile charger and power bank. ( rape your power bank with jacket)

      Pain killer, medicine for cough and cold. And according to your requirements. 

      A strong stick

      ORS or any kind of energy drink.

      When is the best time to go? 

      April to May and September to November is the best time to go to Kedarnath.  It is better to avoid the monsoon.
